The work of Mortuary Services is mainly split into two separate yet very closely related fields of work which are hygienic treatment and facial re-construction. Mortuary Services has full Public Liability and indemnitity insurance, and a clinical waste carriers license.

Hygienic treatment

The main area of work is the hygienic treatment of bodies while they await final burial or cremation. This work is often referred to as embalming although in fact the correct description would be hygienic treatment due to the process that is undertaken. This work is often conducted at our Client’s own premises usually a designated room within the Funeral Directors chapel of rest under our controlled conditions although Mortuary Services does boast to have its own fully equipped and modern mortuary facility where we can undertake our work in a private secluded and secure area on behalf of the Funeral Director. If required, we can even arrange collection of the body within a 50 mile radius of Carmarthen and return it to the Funeral Director within a specified time frame. We have been known to travel much further away for specialist requirements or to assist in the repatriation of a deceased returning from overseas into the United Kingdom or vice versa.

Facial re-construction

The other main area of service provided by Mortuary Services is the facial reconstruction of the deceased as a result of a possible trauma. This work attempts to make the deceased presented in a pre-mortem condition in order for the family to view their loved one as part of the grieving process. Dorian Harries is an accomplished specialist in the field of such facial reconstruction techniques and the feedback from his clients speaks volumes about the high quality of work he attains while maintaining the highest degree of integrity and professionalism.

24hr Emergency Call Out

Our 24hr emergency call out is available 365 days per year and we provide this service to all our registered clients as standard; we can provide this service to non-registered clients subject to our terms and conditions.

Health, Safety & Environmental Advice and Consultation

We at Mortuary Services understand the complexities of applying the legal and regulatory health, safety, environmental and waste requirements within the Funeral and Embalming business which is why we can also offer competent advice and assistance on these subjects to all our Clients using our in-house expertise.
